Valley Brothers Contracting emerged in 2023 when brothers Dustin and Dylan Shier pooled their 40 years of collective experience in earthworks, logging, snow clearing, and equipment operation to establish a new venture. Their vision was to create a company that prioritized personalized service, unparalleled customer care, and exceptional results.

Harnessing their diverse skill set, Dustin and Dylan are dedicated to managing and operating a business with a personal touch. With a robust fleet of heavy-duty equipment at their disposal, Valley Brothers Contracting tackles projects of all sizes with precision and efficiency.

The company's comprehensive range of services encompasses snow removal and ice management, site preparation, drilling and blasting, landscaping and grading, aggregate supplies, and forestry services. No matter the task, Valley Brothers Contracting is equipped to deliver outstanding results.

The name "Valley Brothers" pays homage to the brothers' upbringing in the farming “valley” of Pemberton, BC. Rooted in their community, Dustin and Dylan take immense pride in their surroundings and prioritize building lasting relationships with their clients. At Valley Brothers Contracting, every project is approached with ‘small town values’ of dedication, integrity, and a commitment to exceeding expectations.

Our Team

Dustin Shier

Dustin Shier brings extensive experience in heavy equipment operation and project management, having played pivotal roles across renowned projects and companies.

During his tenure at Kiewit and Cloudworks from 2006 to 2008, Dustin served as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Earth Works Foreman. His roles included overseeing bulk excavating, penstock excavating, and backfill operations, contributing to projects such as Douglas, Tipella, and Fire Mountain.

Transitioning to Ledcor for the Fitzsimmons Power Project from 2008 to 2010, Dustin excelled as a Foreman in charge, managing excavations, backfill operations, and intake diversions.

During the 2010 Olympics, Dustin played a key role as the Foreman of snow removal for Whistler Olympic Park, host of the nordic and cross-country ski events.

Returning to Kiewit for the Portman Project from 2010 to 2013, Dustin served as a Foreman and Equipment Operator, overseeing pit development, crushing, and waste site management, while efficiently managing outside contract trucks.

With a comprehensive skill set spanning excavation, construction, and project management, Dustin brings over two decades of invaluable earthworks and operator experience to the table.

Born and raised in Pemberton, BC, Dustin and his family – wife Alexa and their two sons– call this charming town their home, embodying a deep connection to the community.

Dylan Shier

Dylan Shier possesses a diverse background in heavy equipment operation and forestry management, acquired through years of hands-on experience across various renowned projects and companies.

During his tenure at Kiewit, Dylan served as a Foreman and Heavy Equipment Operator, contributing his expertise to projects like the Seymour Dam and the Port Mann Bridge. His roles encompassed a wide range of responsibilities, from overseeing crushing operations to managing open pit mining endeavors.

Transitioning to Ledcor, Dylan assumed the position of Head Excavation Operator for the Fitzsimmons Creek Power Project, where he adeptly managed earthworks and trench excavations.

In addition to his construction expertise, Dylan transitioned to the forestry sector servings as Logging Supervisor and Operations Manager at Shier Enterprises Logging. Dylan wore many hats in his role, including equipment operation, road building, rigging, and yarder operations.

With an extensive skill set running a wide range of heavy machinery and certifications in first aid and safety, Dylan brings over two decades of invaluable experience to Valley Brother Contracting.

Dylan, together with his wife, Jordana, and their children, proudly call Pemberton, BC home. With deep roots in the community, Dylan takes pride in his work to enhance and develop the Sea to Sky corridor.
